THERON PATE, AIA, NCARB

Theron Pate, AIA, NCARB, founder and principal architect of Pate Studio Architects (PSA), is a professionally educated designer and architect with over 35 years of experience in all phases of architectural practice. After receiving his degree in architecture from Oklahoma State University, his professional career has included positions with a major residential developer, as well as several prominent architectural firms. At Pate Studio Architects, Mr. Pate is responsible for overseeing all project design aspects from inception to completion, in addition to promoting the firm and maintaining client relations.

Prior to forming Pate Studio Architects, Mr. Pate was a founding partner and principal of the award-winning architectural firm of Dawson Hannouche Pate (DHP), located in Newport Beach ,CA. His expertise and talents helped bring DHP recognition throughout the building industry, with the firm’s work frequently featured in prominent industry publications such as Builder, Multi-Housing News, Luxury Homes, Builder Digest, Professional Builder, Residential Architect, Design/Build Business, and California Builder among others. And, he was honored by Residential Architect magazine to be featured as one of the most-influential residential architects in the country. During Mr. Pate’s tenure at DHP, the firm was also the proud recipient of numerous design awards including the Silver Award at The Nationals, MAME (Major Achievement in Marketing Excellence) and the prestigious Gold Nugget Grand Award.

Mr. Pate has contributed his talents to numerous professionally-recognized design workshops, as well as being featured as a guest speaker at the National Association of Homebuilders (NAHB) Convention. He has played a significant role in many award-winning projects throughout the United States, and his unique vision and sense of aesthetics continue to be key factors in PSA’s commitment to superior design and dedication to quality work and attentive service.

As a licensed architect for over 28 years, Mr. Pate has maintained full membership with the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and holds an NCARB Certificate. He has additionally held memberships with the National Association of Homebuilders (NAHB), the International Code Council (ICC), the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and the Building Industry Association of Southern California (BIA/SC). Mr. Pate is also a proud and active supporter of HomeAid, a charitable non-profit organization dedicated to providing housing for the temporarily homeless.
